MyMMANews hooked up with Quintin Torres to ask him about his goals and how he has developed his plan. He tells us…
“I got involved in mixed martial arts in 2011. I became a huge fan of the sport. Just really loved it. My father was big into jiu-jitsu in the 80’s and 90’s in Redondo Beach. This was when the Gracie’s were doing seminars at El Camino College before they even had an academy. It’s always been a part of my family. Learning jiu-jitsu, self-defense. In 2011 I dedicated my whole life to training, MMA competition and learning everything I could. I struggled with a lot of the hurdles that many guys struggle with like proper diet, proper cardiovascular training and confidence. That led me to seeking out more training methods. more coaching techniques. Then I started helping out my guys, my friends. Teaching them how to do these things. I got to the point where I started enjoying the coaching and helping fighters more than the preparation and competition. Living as a fighter is a hard life. It takes a lot of time and energy. It can be really difficult to pay out in the long run. So, I decided to dedicate myself more to helping guys so they’re not struggling, not walking away from their dreams and have better opportunities with their performance.
