Wanderlei Silva fractures foot after being hit by car on his bicycle
Wanderlei Silva was struck by a car Wednesday night while riding his bicycle in Curitiba, Brazil.
In an interview with Tribuna, Silva said he suffered a fracture on his right foot and was left with abrasions on his face. The man who accidentally hit Silva offered to help him and drove him to the hospital.
“I could even have died if I wasn’t wearing a helmet,” Silva told the newspaper. “People have to be more careful in traffic. It’s hard to ride bikes in Curitiba.”
This is not the first time the former PRIDE middleweight champion was hit by a car while riding his bicycle. In May 2016, Silva was a victim of a hit-and-run after leaving the gym.
Wanderlei Silva hasn’t fought his knockout loss to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in 2018. He has recently showed interested in fighting in Bare Knuckle FC.
