Conor McGregor card sets UFC gold prizm record, sells for $27,060

Former UFC champ-champ Conor McGregor continues to set records…. even when he isn’t fighting.

A $27,060 sale was recorded over the weekend, setting an all-time record for any UFC Gold Prizm card. The card was sold during an auction from Goldin, a leading marketplace for trading cards, collectibles and memorabilia.

Goldin’s Summer Premium Card and Memorabilia Auction featured more than 3,700 rare, vintage and modern collectible items including the McGregor card.

Information on the lot provided by Goldin Auctions: “Graded GEM MT 10 by PSA. “The Notorious” Conor McGregor, one of the UFC’s rare two-division champions, stars on this 2021 Panini Prizm UFC Gold Prizm collectible. The 2021 set is the inaugural issue of Panini’s UFC line. This Gold Prizm offering shows McGregor swinging his arms in the Octagon. The limited-edition piece is serial-numbered “08/10.” A significant and elite Conor McGregor Panini collectible, in blazing Gem Mint condition.”

McGregor is currently rehabbing a leg injury sustained in his latest fight, a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July.

Since the leg break, McGregor has undergone successful surgery in Los Angeles and is expected to be out of crutches six weeks post-operation. Providing all goes well with his recovery, the Irishman wants to return to the UFC octagon in 2022 for a fourth fight with Dustin Poirier.
