Jorge Masvidal, dominoes

Jorge Masvidal continues to take aim at UFC over negotiations, slams fighters also working as commentators

Jorge Masvidal has continued to take shots at Dana White and the UFC for the way they handle negotiations.

Ever since Masvidal beat Nate Diaz at UFC 244, the consensus was he would be fighting Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title. White even announced the fight would take place in July at Radio Row during Super Bowl week. Since then, however, negotiations have stalled which has forced “Gamebred” to go to social media.

He has claimed they were offering him less money than he got to fight Nate Diaz and it has been a take it or leave it negotiation. The promotion since turned to Gilbert Burns who accepted the fight which has resulted in Masvidal not being happy with the UFC.

“I feel bad for Dana. He is just a promoter but he isn’t doing the deals with us,” Masvidal wrote.

He then followed it up explaining that White and the UFC called him once last time with another poor offer.

“I already explained why I signed a new deal. It’s either take it or leave it and not get paid. I would’ve signed another deal if it was done in good faith. He called me night before he wants to announce and tell me take or it leave it. That’s not negotiating that’s strong arming,” he added.

Jorge Masvidal is no doubt mad at the UFC about how they are conducting business. He also slammed UFC fighters working as commentators telling him to just fight.

“And for the #whiteknights that have commentating jobs with the ufc that say “just fight” you guys should be embarrassed to call yourselves current/former fighters. Not one of you been doing it as long as me and like me,” he said. “There’s a reason you are “commentating.”

When Jorge Masvidal will fight again is unknown at this point. But, it seems likely something will need to change in negotiations.
