Here’s a throwback video for you. Before Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu standout Ryan Hall was a star on this season on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 22, the calm and charismatic mixed martial artist became sort of a YouTube sensation when a video of him reacting to a drunk antagonist in a restaurant went viral.
According to witnesses, a group of friends were enjoying dinner when a man approached the table, requesting a lighter. After informing him the table was comprised of non-smokers, the man became enraged, demonstrating violent behavior, and directly threatening one of the seated diners.
Hall never threw a punch, instead he pleaded with the man to stop acting so irrational and to leave the restaurant. After taking the man down, and then letting him go, the unnamed man who would later become apologetic, began throwing his jacket around and causing more of a scene. Hall quickly takes him outside and puts him to sleep with a rear-naked choke.
Hall is a 30-year old BJJ black belt under Felipe Costa. He established himself as one of the biggest stars in the sport with several medals in important tournaments such as the ADCC, World Championships (Mundial), Pan American Championship and Grapplers Quest.
