Robert Helenius: The Path to Wilder

Robert Helenius steps in to take on the heavy hitting Bronze Bomber after putting in the time and making his way through some pretty decent fights, win or lose. At 31-0, Helenius has produced 20 knockouts. Before turning pro, Helenius represented Finland at the European Championships in 2006 there he came in at silver and set himself up for a career in professional boxing.

He started his career at 22-0. It was in his seventeenth pro fight that he notched a career best win when he beat Derek Chisora in 2011. It was a close fought battle and Helenius managed to retain his WBA and WBO Inter Continental titles he’d previously won fighting up the ranks in addition to the European Heavyweight title.

Then in 2016, Robert Helenius has a shot at the WBC Silver heavyweight title against Johann Duhaupas of France. It was then he suffered his first career loss by being knocked out in the sixth round.

Helenius would bounce back and get three straight wins, two by first round knockout, and won the vacant WBC Silver International heavyweight title. Then he took on Dillian Whyte and lost that fight to a decision.

Three more wins later, including an eighth round knockout of Erkan Teper, Helenius suffered his third career loss to Gerald Washington.

Now, Robert Helenius is on another three fight win streak with a win over Mateus Roberto Osorio and two wins over Adam Kownacki who was particularly promising at the time.

Will Robert Helenius break his 3 wins, 1 loss streak he has going? Tune in Saturday to see!
