XFC 45: Austin Bashi – “Goal is to be an XFC champion”

Interview with Austin Bashi above

XFC MMA‘s 19-year-old star in the making, Austin Bashi, is back in the cage again as he looks to continue his progress as an undefeated prospect in the sport. Bashi returns against James Dunn (3-3) at XFC 45. Bashi has stated previously he is in no rush to chase the big fights, but he does envision himself as champion in the future.

“I love Myron (Molotky),” Bashi told MyMMANews. “He’s treating me, not just me but the whole organization great. My goal is to be an XFC champion, to be the best XFC fighter that there is.”

Bashi at only 19 is 3-0. Most 3-0 fighters are in their respective local regional shows, waiting patiently for a fight in the (kind of) post pandemic world. Bashi on the other hand is on one of the top stages in XFC, broadcasted on a major network for the world to watch.

“I’m lucky to be on this promotion,” Bashi stated. “Usually people have their first 7 or 8 figths on local shows, not having that national television recognition. Me, my first fight was on national television. Competing on NBC Sports, Fox Sports, it is getting my name out there quick.”
