Chris Sarro on BKFC 17 opponent Kakar: “I’m putting him out”
Interview with Chris Sarro above
This Friday, April 30, Chris “Golden Gloves” Sarro returns to the illustrious squared circle for BKFC 17 in Birmingham, Alabama. Sarro, who will be making his fourth appearance in BKFC takes on Ezatullah Kakar in what is expected to be an absolute blockbuster of a bout.
Sarro comes from a long lineage of The Sweet Science. Between his great-grandfather, grandfathers (from both parents), his uncle, and himself, the in-ring moniker “Golden gloves is because it’s a family thing,” he says. However, it’s also very suiting. In the two years of being a professional fighter, he’s put roughly 5 minutes of work total, dispatching 3 out of his 4 opponents in under 2 minutes apiece. Stating, “in the two years it’s been one hell of a roller coaster. That’s for sure!”
Now on the cusp of his 4th fight within the BKFC squared circle, Sarro embraces his last outing which he suffered his first pro loss. “It was the best thing that could’ve happened for my career,” he confesses. “Because I wouldn’t have made all the changes that I made.”
The knockout artist, Sarro found a new home, joining BKFC number 1 ranked 165lb Elvin Brito, Brandon Lambert, and Britain Hart in the paradise weather of Puerto Rico. A long way from the bitter Maine winters Sarro had been accustomed to. “I’m cutting weight just talking to you,” Sarro jokes.
With fight night on the horizon, Sarro admits, “I love this. I live for fight week, he radiantly says. “It’s the best part for me.” Delving into his confidence, “Golden Gloves” says, “I feel that my skill set is going to shine,” he claims. “You guys are in for a show,” Sarro promises. “There ain’t going to be an ass in their seat!” Insisting, I’ve never been in this shape in my life!”
While discussing how he feels the fight will play out and his intentions, Sarro predicts, “I’m putting him out,” he bluntly says. “I’m going to catch him with something. I don’t feel he can handle my actual power,” Sarro confesses.
