Crawford, Spence, Mayweather Can Be Manny Pacquaio’s Next Big Thing in 2021

Crawford, Spence, Mayweather Can Be Manny Pacquaio’s Next Big Thing in 2021

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) is delighted to schedule huge fights in 2021. It is eyering to highlight the nine-belter world champion, Manny “Pacman” Pacquaio. Earning the 2019 Forbes Magazine Highest-Paid Athletes of the Decade and 2019 World Boxing News Fighter of the Year, Pacquiao is coming for more this 2021.

Top Rank’s founder and CEO Bob Arum had reportedly announced that Manny Pacquiao would likely face Connor McGregor in 2021. However, as this year is about to end, other boxers were named to wrestle against him. Although the fans are rooting for a McGregor-Pacquiao 2021 fight, Arum seems to take a different path.

With the number of Manny Pacquiao’s next fights increasing, boxing fans will surely anticipate his upcoming matches. Also, if you click this link, you’ll find the betting odds and information in the wagering games that his fight would carry. As Pacquaio continues his resurgence that he started in 2019, let’s see the possible names that he might face next year.

Errol Spence Jr.

After a scary car crash that Spence met last October, he aims to return to the boxing ring next year. This 29-year old boxer is the current IBF and WBC Welterweight titleholder. After he expressed his interest in getting back in shape, Spence wants to bring the best in him, eyeing for Danny Garcia and Manny Pacquiao as his next opponents.

Although Garcia was initially scheduled to face Spence this January, this might be put into hot water. According to Premier Boxing Champions’ Al Haymon, Spence would have the most significant leap in his boxing career once he faces Manny Pacquaio. If he successfully defeats “Pacman,” it would make his record ultra-competitive.

Danny Garcia

Danny Garcia is a former Light Welterweight and Welterweight champion who’s also set to fight Manny Pacquaio next year. As mentioned above, he was scheduled to joust Errol Spence this January, but the latter is still recovering from an accident. Instead, Garcia will remain busy with another brawl against Ivan Redkach.

Once Garcia wins against Redkach, this could be a turning point for the PBC to consider him as Pacquiao’s next rival. If Manny has the fastest footwork as his edge to win the match, Garcia is a “one punch man.”  From this standpoint, he has the power to end the game in one powerful jab once he sees an opportunity, and Pacquiao should watch out for it.

Terence Crawford

Two years ago, the Crawford-Pacquiao fight didn’t push through as the players’ promoters were both on the opposite sides of the street. Pacquiao has tax issues in the U.S., which made it difficult to make a fight, which was also an added reason why Terrence Crawford faded away to fight him.

However, the stars are now slowly aligning to make both promoters’ thawing relationship push through the most anticipated fight next year. Regardless of the money agreement, the Pacquiao-Crawford fight could be the next big thing in the World Boxing Championship series.

Shawn Porter

Another fighter that might be an option to face Pacquiao next year is Shawn Porter. This former Welterweight and Light Middleweight champion has recently lost to Spence. Although it was not a way that Porter would like to end the game, Spence showed more aggressive punches inside the ring.

One of the reasons why Shawn Porter can be Pacquiao’s next best rival is his impressive footwork and speed. If they successfully meet next year, this can be a guaranteed explosion of witnessing two best pressure boxers in the world. Moreover, Porter will have his best time once and for all if he defeats “Pacman.”

Floyd Mayweather

Wanting a rematch of the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight isn’t possible next year. The two athletes met last 2015, where Mayweather controversially won the fight. Considering that they dominated the PPV buys, producing 4.6 million in ticket sales, their rematch could come out as the “Greatest Fight of All Time.”

The WBC organization is in continuous negotiation with Mayweather to have a rematch against Manny Pacquaio. Many teases and hypes were sent out that a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will take place next year, but it is not confirmed unless announced. Whether it will push through or not, WBC strives hard to offer their fight next year.

Takeaway

Manny Pacquiao may have achieved many prestigious boxing belts, but he’s in a continuous search to earn even more. His fights weren’t possible this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but will indeed have one or two in 2021.

Looking into his legacy in the boxing world, Pacquiao seems to have an unparalleled record that every boxer dreams about. Various boxers faced him, and while some succeeded and won against him, many weren’t able to triumph against the “Pacman.” Regardless if he faces Mayweather, Spence, Garcia, Porter, or Crawford, he’ll surely give his best inside the ring.
