UFC London results - Masvidal knocks Till out in second round

Jorge Masvidal wants ‘easy fight’ with Conor McGregor

Jorge Masvidal is coming off of a stunning five-second KO win over Ben Askren at UFC 239. The win could have very well secured himself as the number one contender at welterweight, but “Gamebred” is eyeing a different opponent and that is Conor McGregor.

The Irishman has not fought since UFC 229, where he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Yet, Jorge Masvidal still wants that fight because it is an easy paycheck.

“I want McGregor,” Masvidal said on “The Dan LeBatard Show.” “I want to break his face, I think that’s an easy paycheck. He’s got these cash symbols written all over his face for me. I just don’t see it going his way if I’m honest with you.”

Jorge Masvidal knows how big of a star McGregor is, and it would no doubt be a massive fight. Especially given how big of a star “Gambred” is after his KO win over Askren. Add all that together, and Masvidal says it is the fight to make.

“It’s just a fight that, if we made it, it’s going to sell a lot. I’m going to get the money that I deserve, and you can see: You put me there in a fight, and I’m going to fight,” Masvidal said. “I’m going to give you what the fans want. I’ve never pulled out of a fight. …

“It just means more money, more fans and then fight for the title. Either one of them makes sense to me.”

Although Conor McGregor is a former champ-champ, Masvidal sees massive holes in his game. And, believes he would be able to exploit it. Especially his ground game where he taps a lot.

“He backs down,” Masvidal said. “He taps. I’ve never tapped in my whole entire career. He’s tapped a couple times, so that’s backing down in my book. It’s something I’ve never done, and I feel like I’d break him. It would be an easy fight.”

In the end, Jorge Masvidal either wants the Conor McGregor fight or to fight for the welterweight title.
