After a rough start to her professional MMA run, Kaytlin Neil has put together a three-fight win streak as she heads into her Legacy Fighting Alliance debut against Lisa Mauldin at LFA 66.
What does it feel like having the momentum of your win streak?
“It honestly feels great having momentum. I was the (1-3) fighter for a little bit and I knew I was way better than that, so finally putting my game together and showing what I’m capable of. I feel way better stepping onto the LFA stage knowing that I belong there, and I’ve worked really hard to get there and I’ve earned the position.”
You’ve fought for Bellator MMA & Invicta FC previously. How are you more prepared for this opportunity?
“Just having the momentum behind me. I just did a title fight, so I feel like I am queen of Utah right now. I am the best in Utah, and I want to maintain that, so I have a little chip on my shoulder. Someone is trying to take that away for me in my home state. I don’t want that. So, I have a little momentum with me, and I want to get to the next level. I know LFA is a great step in that direction.”
What do you think Lisa is going to want to do in this fight?
“I’m guessing that she’s going to want to strike, which I am totally game for. I love stand up, but I also love the ground game and wrestling. Either way, I’m comfortable wherever it goes.”
