10th Planet New York City Upgrades to New Location

10th Planet New York City announced last week via social media that it would be moving to a new location and today the first classes were held on their regular schedule at the new spot. Run by Rey DeLeon and Cece Mena, 10th Planet NYC has only been open for four months but has been seeing such great success with student sign up that they are already expanding into a new location. Previously they were sharing mats with another martial arts school at 35 W. 43rd Street, but the new location allows them to have a space of their own to continue to grow their student base. The new location is 31 W. 46th Street on the fourth floor, between 5th and 6th avenue only 3 blocks away from the previous location and now 2 blocks away from Time Square. It is right above a pizza shop and complete with a shower and changing areas. The couple has been working tirelessly for the last week to ensure that this transition went as quickly and smoothly as possible. Cece said that “we couldn’t have moved and done this without the help of our students. We want this place to feel like it’s their own. Their home and their place to grow.”

Rey De Leon is a brown belt and Cece Mena is a purple belt, both under Eddie Bravo himself since they began their training at 10th Planet HQ out in California. These two have been tearing it up on the competition for quite some time now on both the west and the east coast. Just in the few short months the school has been open, Rey has appeared in events such as Combat Jiu Jitsu Fight Night, Kasai Pro, Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds, and the Rise Invitational.

Cece is a frequent competitor as well and recently picked up wins at the Finishers Sub Only and the Rise Invitational.

If you’re in New York and looking to learn 10th Planet techniques from high-level competitors then this is a no brainer. These two are out there proving their skills time and time again and are both ranked under Eddie Bravo, the man behind the system. Make sure to check out their website for more information on how to sign up.  You can also find them on Facebook or Instagram.
